G’day there! Thanks for stopping by to check us out. If you haven’t visited my about us page yet, my name is Alice Barnes and I’m the Head Honcho here at My Virtual Me.
Recently entering my third year of business, I thought it was about time I started a blog. I’ve always had a deep-seated fear of blogging – I didn’t think there was any point, I’d run out of topics to write about (and I was never a wordsmith). But recently my opinion on blogging has changed and I don’t find it as scary anymore.
I’m writing this blog so that you can get a better idea of who we are and how we can assist you. Some of the topics will include:
- My experience in transitioning from employee to stay at home mum and then to “mumpreneur”,
- Starting and running a VA business,
- Résumé writing,
- Working from home,
- Q&A’s and many more.
A brief history
After becoming a mum in 2009, I began researching ways I could become independent yet still work. Work from home jobs are a dime a dozen these days but I wanted to break free from employment. During my research I found out that transcription (what I had experience in) was a common service to provide from home, which led me to the industry of the Virtual Assistant. Once I delved deeper I discovered that VAs were quite lucrative.
When I first launched My Virtual Me in 2011 it was mainly a specialist transcription service. Since then I have expanded to include debt recovery, résumé writing and web design – as well as a few general “all-rounder” administrative tasks. As mentioned earlier, I’ve now been in business for three years and I’m certainly not looking at closing my doors any time soon.
How to get more information
When you partner with a Virtual Assistant or Administrative Consultant, it allows you to outsource the tasks that are holding your business back from reaching its full potential. It can be very terrifying in the beginning, but it’s not something you should jump into. For those of you who aren’t sure how the “Virtual Assistant” process works or just need some reassuring, send us your questions and I’ll answer them in a Q&A blog post.
Please feel free to subscribe to my blog by entering your e-mail address in the subscribe box, I’d love you to come along on this blogging journey with me.
Thanks for reading and I look forward to you joining me next time.
